Designers Rachel Easting, who’s background is in art, and Anjali Stewart, who’s background is in fashion, cite contemporary art as the inspiration for their collections. This particular collection is based on the “ferocious optimism” of females in the 60’s, using feminine fabrics with masculine cuts. Simple and sweet, all the pieces in the summer ’11 collection will keep you comfy on a humid day.

This Spring is the first season of shoes + accessories from Theodora + Callum, which debuted at Fashion week in September, and I’m drooling over it. Nearly everything in the collection is to die for, but especially the espadrilles. Some of them remind me of the Julian Louie for ALDO collection (with a slightly higher price tag), and if you’re anything like me and you totally missed out on that one because they sold like hot cakes, these are a great alternative!
The ladies behind the line are Stefani Greenfield (co-founder of SCOOP stores) and Desiree Gruber (co-creator and executive producer of Project Runway). See the rest of the amazing collection here! Also available on Net-a-Porter and Shopbop.
Discovered this store by John Agujar and Fredrick Spendlove in my neighborhood last weekend while walking back from the Brooklyn Flea and it is literally the most amazing furniture + design store I have ever set foot in. The pieces are whimsical, some retro, some modern, and some antique. Just about everything is gonna cost you a serious lump of change, but its always fun to look for inspiration! From their site:
“The core of the original collection was an exclusive offering of Milo Baughman deadstock unearthed after decades of storage in Thayer Coggin’s warehouses, complimented by a diversified collection of vintage & antique pieces embracing aesthetic movements from the 1890’s to the 1990’s, as well as new in-production pieces by Thayer Coggin, Dunbar, & Classicon”.
Check out more of their pieces here or visit the store on North 6th + Kent!
