Toy Watch + Missoni

I was just checking out the Toy Watch site for the first time in a while, and I came upon these gorgeous “dressed by Missoni” watches. The face is the standard Toy Watch face, and the strap is a Missoni knit that comes in a few different designs. They also have some with silk scarves.  I have the plain white jelly one from a friend who bought it and didn’t like it, and I wear it all the time and its never gotten one speck of dirt on it. These watches are like Superman…dressed in Missoni. They are almost sold out so grab one while they’re still available!

Thom Dolan Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear

Just peeped this new Thom Dolan collection on Refinery 29 and Oh, Sweet Betty Draper! Maybe its the ex-Catholic school uniform-wearer  in me but I adore the denim bloomers with the white blouse and BOW tie. View the rest of the Spring ’11 Ready-to-Wear Collection here.

The Pouch (now trending)

If you’re in the market for a new bag, may I recommend one of these drawstring, mini-version of the bucket bag pouches? I love each and every one of these, in fact I own the suede Madewell Fatigue bag (#5). I am especially a big fan of the carpet style ones by Wendy Nichol, which I found over at Of a Kind, a recently-launched site that “introduces new designers through a unique combination of storytelling and small-batch exclusives”.

MNDR / Cut Me Out

Quickly becoming a big fan of North-Dakotan turned Oaklandite (Oaklander?) turned New Yorker duo MNDR (pronounced “mandar”).  Their tracks are dancy and melodic.  The duo consists of Amanda Warner and Peter Wade. You might recognize Amanda’s voice from Mark Ronson and the Business Intl.’s song “Bang Bang Bang” from Record Collection.

The best part? You can download the song for free Green Label Sound! So dooooo it.

Acne Spring/Summer (new additions)

Above are some new items that Acne just added to their Spring/Summer 2011 Collection. Leather jackets haven’t been as big this season as they have been in the recent past, but the cut and color on the jacket in the first photo offers us something new + different and I think it pairs great with the lavender dress. That blouse and stretchy fitted shorts is adorable not to mention looks insanely comfortable. And the three men’s looks are spot on, simple, and superb. In case you missed the rest of the collection, here it is:

Rustic Inspiration

Our apartment is pretty close to being done, with mostly just decorating left. Here are some things I stumbled across that I love for interiors right now. I love that egg photograph and I might have to recreate it for our kitchen. I’m also on a quest to find some form of taxidermy for our walls, but I have yet to convince Jay. I wouldn’t exactly call him a PETA activist but he hates all fur (even vintage+faux, which are the only kinds I will wear) I’ve been eyeing that upholstered wooden chair from Anthropologie for awhile – it has the names of NYC subway stations on it. And…unfortunately I probably won’t be putting a fireplace in this place, but its nice to dream.

Here’s where I found the bedroom.

Beer: A Genuine Collection of Cans

I already have an ever-expanding collection of coffee table books (I’ve always wanted to make one myself someday) but here’s yet another one that I love: Beer (A Genuine Collection of Cans) by Dan Becker and Lance Wilson. The two came upon Becker’s stepfather’s extensive antique beer can collection in his basement in the midwest (the cans dated back as far as 1975!) and photographed all the cans to make this book. I love the idea of this because I always think beer labels are so interesting!
